Akif Mahmood, the young dynamic designer who only graduated from the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design last year has already made his presence felt in the industry through his funky and unusual designs. His latest collection for Pakistan Fashion Week UK, inspired by the Pakistani kite flying festival ‘Basant’, used dark blue as its base colour, symbolising the colour of the night and brighter colours in the motifs and embroideries to symbolise the kites themselves.
French styled velvet jackets, Lahore’s old buildings, jumpsuits inspired from the Far East and strikingly vibrant waistcoats were all fused together with traditional Pakistani embroidery to create a truly outstanding catwalk collectionRelated Posts
